June 2026 brought a fruitful dialogue between science and practice. The workshop "Supporting Those Who Support Others", organised by the EMOROB project team, bridged the academic environment with key organisations from the helping professions.

The Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University in Brno hosted an expert workshop titled "Supporting Those Who Support Others". Organised as part of the EMOROB research project, funded by the Czech Science Foundation (GAČR), the event aimed to open up a discussion on daily practice, experience sharing, and the specific challenges faced in the field of child and family care.

The program opened with an introduction to the EMOROB project itself, followed by inspiring presentations from representatives of various non-governmental non-profit organizations and educational institutions. Participants gained insights into the operations of ABC, o.p.s. and the Rodinné Integrační Centrum z.s. (Family Integration Center), both of which are dedicated to long-term family support and integration. The specifics of working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with other disabilities were highlighted in presentations by MIKASA z.s. and ADAM – autistické děti a my, z.s. (Autistic Children and Us).

Deeper perspectives on therapeutic support and specialized care were shared by representatives from Děti úplňku (Children of the Full Moon) and the association Tady to mám rád, z.s. Valuable insights from the field of inclusive primary education were then brought to the table by ZŠ Haldy elementary school.

The entire day was marked by an exceptionally open and inspiring atmosphere. During the final discussion, participants reflected on the key takeaways from the workshop and agreed on the crucial need for continuous networking. We highly value the sharing of these authentic field experiences, which serve as an invaluable source for our academic research in understanding the real-world context of the helping professions.
