On 11th November 2025, Ilaria Fornacciari delivered a guest lecture titled Electrodes, Film and Algorithm: the Clinical and Colonial Epistemology of the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) within the course Visual Anthropology - Visual Culture (SANb2036) at the Faculty of Social Science, Masaryk University.
The course introduces visual anthropology as both a method and a field of research, offering a broad overview of key theories, concepts, methods and developments in current approaches to understanding visual experience as a bio-socio-cultural phenomenon in European and international contexts.
